How many users/reviewers do you have?
We have over 2,500 subscribers and we’re growing every day. Of our subscribers, a smaller group actively posts reviews. Remember, reviews are voluntary, so as long as you are logged in as a user of the site, you can post your romance reviews online, any book at anytime. Once a month or once a week or more – the choice is yours.
Who uses Saucy?
Well, if you found your way here, hopefully YOU! Due to adult content posted at this site, Saucy requests that users be 18 years of age or older. Otherwise, all are welcome! Quite simply, if you love to read romance and like it a bit saucy sometimes, this website is for you. Because the romance novel industry is predominately female, so is Saucy, but if you like to read and write about love stories, you can join thousands of other like-minded fans here.

I am currently a Saucy reviewer, and I’d like to be able to add more content, like featured images and video, to my reviews. How can I do that?
Currently, we only have one type of reviewer format, but we are planning to expand the review content to enable our reviewers to have more control and more options for the content they post. Please reach out to us via the Contact Saucy page to discuss.
I am currently a Saucy reviewer, and I’d like to be able to read and post in other languages. How can I do that?
Since Saucy is recently hatched, we’re adhering to the KISS principle – keep it simple & saucy! Meaning, we’re planning to add more options for customization, but as a site run by volunteers we have a limited bandwidth for improvements, so extras will be phased in. At this time we have not scheduled to offer Saucy in a language other than English, but would like to do so at some point in the future.

I am currently a Saucy reviewer, and I made a mistake and need to edit my review which has already been posted. How can I get help?

I am currently a Saucy reviewer, and I’m trying to post a review and pressed SUBMIT, but the review never posted to the page. What should I do?
Reviews are moderated and sometimes held for a short time as part of this process. First time review postings, postings with urls, and a few other triggers will cause reviews to pause for moderation. You should see a “your comment is awaiting moderation” notification on your review. If the review has disappeared, it means there is a technical malfunction. Likely, you are trying to post two reviews back-to-back in the same category. The system needs to clear cache to accept reviews in a row in the same category, so please close your browser and log back in to post, refresh or clear your cache.

Why is Saucy’s PC website so much better than the MOBILE website?
Yep. It’s true. Our website viewed on a pc is far superior to the mobile version. We accomplished our first goal, which was to have a fully functional website for personal computer screens, while including a functional (but stripped down) version for mobile users. Now, we are working on an upgrade to a responsive design, which will replicate the original site over all device platforms and sizes, such as: pcs, laptops, tablets, cell phones, anrdoid, iOS etc. This improvement is expected Spring 2017.
Why doesn’t Saucy have a library of cover art (book covers) available for my reviews?
There are hundreds of millions of books and more published every day. Rather than investing bandwidth in attempting to recreate a library of covers for our users to select from and attempting also to keep it current, we’d rather our users post their own romance book choices, with no limits. Software exists to pull the book art to our site, but so far an ISBN is required, and many online authors have elected to forego an ISBN (like a serial number for international book retailers), and just publish their works online at retailers where an ISBN is not required. At Saucy, we don’t want to exclude this growing non-ISBN group, so we’re looking into other options to add cover art to your reviews, without any restrictions.
Why can’t I go to a particular book and see reviews just for that book?
We’d like to offer users the option to go directly to a specific book and read all its reviews, but for now, you can either search the name or author of the book and scroll through the review results OR go to the category you are interested in and scroll to view a variety of reviews for books in that category.

Why does Saucy have two logos?
Actually, we have more than two logos. We have two main logos: one with wings with red devil horns, and one without wings with a golden halo. Then, each of these logos has a reverse logo for coloured vs white backgrounds. The logo with wings is more linear, while the one without is stacked.
Who runs Saucy?
Saucy is independent, with no direct affiliation with any book retailer. This site is designed and operated by volunteers who do it for the love of romance books, united by a rabid…er…avid…need to read and post reviews. The original founders are based in Toronto, Canada, but our contributors are international.
